Cycling Shorts

QUALITY

Cut
It is our goal to offer you the highest quality cycling shorts that can be customised to your own design. Our shorts are made from an soft elastic, and highly functional material. They are constructed to have the fewest possible seams in critical areas. The seat padding is a BiElastic material. Leg hemlines are equipped with a rubber-gripping band, to deter slipping. The straps (bibs) are made from a comfortable mesh material.
Fabric
We purchase our fabric from only the best acclaimed European manufacturers/suppliers. Nothing but the highest quality of materials are chosen for our products. Each fabric is individually selected to maximise wearing comfort and durability. A high wicking action ensures quick moisture release for optimal temperature regulation.
Seams
Our shorts are sewn using a combination of 'Overlock' and 'Flatlock' seams. The general construction of the shorts has also given special attention to limit the number of seams in critical areas such as: inner thighs, and seat area.
The thread itself is made from a tear-resistant and elastic fibre; Made in Germany. The thread stretches with the material making the shorts even more durable and robust.
Radhosen Pads
Seat Padding
No doubt about it; padding is an important component to cycling shorts. We use only the highest quality pads in owayo shorts. They are made from a multi-density foam, with a 3D-elastisity. The various foam densities create optimal absorbtion and added strength; the light elastisity enables the pad to stretch in any direction, allowing the shorts move easily with the riders movement.
Printing
The printing application is computer controlled to enable millimeter precision and laser sharpness. The technology implemented is a 'thermal sublimated process'. This method binds the colour molecules to the fabric fibres at a molecular level. The fabric stays soft and breathable. The printing will not wash-out, fade, or deteriorate.
Natual Wear & Tear (Fabric Pilling)
Fabric pilling is the formation of small fuzzy balls on the surface of the fabric. This is not due to the manufacturing process and is therefore not considered a 'defected product'. The fabric surface in this area has had frictional contact with a harder material.
How to Minimize Wear & Tear
It is best to choose a more durable model such as the Side- or U-Panel shorts. Pay attention as to not ride with a saddle that is rough or ripped in any areas. A well-known cycling short destroyer is velcro (e.g. many saddle bags have velcro fasteners ). Continual contact with velcro on almost any fabric is best avoided as this rough material destroys most all fabrics.
