How often do you train and what does your training look like?

We practice six days a week with Monday being our only day off. The team meets every morning at 9 a.m. in the dressing room, then we do strength and endurance training together. Around noon, we go out on the ice for 60-75 minutes. Afterwards, there's a cool-down: skating and stretching. If you like, you can go to the sauna or get a treatment from the physio. Of course, training also includes tactical discussions and specific preparation for opposing teams.

Does your team have certain rituals?

Not really as a team but some of our players do. One of our teammates, for example, always puts on his left skate first. Many players also listen to music with their headphones, which has almost become a sort of ritual in and of itself.

How do you motivate yourselves before a game?

Every game is preceded by an extensive analysis of the opponent. This tactical preparation is very important for us. Of course, the coach also holds a motivational speech right before the game. Individual players will often do the same in front the whole team Music also play a very important role, so that we are in the right mood before a game.

How do you celebrate after a win?

We absolutely cherish the moment right after a victory, fueled by appropriate music. There are usually not that many days between games and we need to stay in top form. Like a former German national soccer coach used to say: After the game is before the game.
