Can you briefly tell us how you got into cycling and triathlons:
My friend Wolfi said: "Hey, in 4 weeks, there's a triathlon in Weiden, do you also want to participate?" I said: "What's a triathlon? OK, count me in!" That was back in 1991.
What are your goals? In sport and in life?
I would like to be involved in competitive sports for as long as possible while maintaining fairness and humility. I want to be a good role model and continue to find a balance between family life and my sport.
Where do you like to cycle most?
Definitely at home - the Naab, Laaber, Regen and Danube valleys are beautiful. Mountain biking on the Jurasteig trails is really exciting too. For destination bike rides I like Emilia Romagna and Sicily.
What do you like to do when you're not on your bike?
To my cellar - there's always a part of my bike that needs to be fine tuned!
What does owayo mean to you?
For years, owayo clothing has been like a second skin when I am cycling and running. It's an up-and-coming company that incorporates the requirements of young athletes into its sportswear. They employ young and dynamic people who are knowledgeable about the current trends.
What is/are your favorite product(s) from owayo and why?
I now wear almost exclusively owayo cycling jerseys. They fit well and have tough back pockets (I always stuff so many things into them). For running, I really like wearing a thin, lightweight running top. I hardly notice I'm wearing it and it almost always stays dry!
